I am extremely passionate about many things but if I had to pick two it would be travel and then my family/friends. When I have a free moment I want to get up and explore the world and I love to share that passion with my family and friends. Many of those travels lead me to various Disney locations around the globe whether on land or by sea. With that I have explored both Disney and non Disney locations with family, with friends, adults only and even on my own. Now with all of this my next biggest passion is helping others explore the world the many ways I have. I want to help others discover what their passionate about and want to discover and then get you there. Then afterwards I want to hear all about it!
Now i have been doing all of this for as long as I can remember. In 2020 I made the decision to make it official and decided to establish Storybook Trips by Kevin. Fast forward to 2024 and after many amazing years with them I made the exciting change to join "Love the Mouse Travel / Love Travel Collection"! Just know that it I am here to help you with making your adventure amazing but behind me is the knowledge and support of this huge amazing team!

My fathers side of the family lived in New England in Cape Cod. We would travel there 2-3 times a year when I was young. Combined with a love for things that are old and also beaches I naturally have a love for New England. Admittedly as and adult with a family we have not traveled there much at all as traveled most anywhere else. This past summer we wanted to really do something different than our norm and rented a house in Old Orchard, Maine. However we did not want to just stay ion one place and planned several roadtrips from there.
Now, have I mentioned my families love for all things spooky and are that family that thinks fall starts on July 5th? Yeah, that is us! The amazing thing about New England is they mostly feel the same way and that gives us enough to easily fill an 8 day roadtrip with plenty to do! The day to leave was upon us and we packed the car with enough snacks to feed an elephant, one of our closest friends and her grandson from Ireland who was fresh off the plane and we headed north.
Now I would love to sit here and type up every detail that made this adventure so amazing but I do believe this platform will stop me long before that! However I really want to share some of the details that made this trip so amazing!
Day 1: Leave home and we headed straight north instead of north east. We wanted to start this spooky roadtrip off the right way. We headed to the small town of East Corinth in Vermont. We have a friend who was working on the movie set for Beetlejuice 2 and invited us to stop by to see it. As massive Tim Burton fans how could we say no! This is not my first visit to a movie set but it was the first time to visit something yet to be and also that much of a favorite! After many pictures and some exploration we continued and arrived at our house in Old Orchard and of course our first of many amazing New England meals! Can you say "Lobstah!"
Day 2:Tornado Watch! Soooo... we decided to stay in, eat and have some drinks. It was some absolute quality family time.
Day 3: Beach Day! Yep! That was the highlight for the day and it was everything we needed! New England Beaches just hit different. After spending the morning and afternoon with our feet in the sand we cleaned up and drove to Kennebunkport for the evening. This town just screams "New England Fisherman" town! It is absolutely stunning and a lot of fun to explore.
Day 4: Salem! Yes I know that is not in Maine! What would a spooky roadtrip be with out it! I could write paragraphs about our day here. Between The Witches House, various locations from the Hocus Pocus movie set, Count Orlocks Monster Museum, The Witches Museum and so many others we were ready to come home and decorate for Halloween! (really needs its own separate trip for a few days)
Day 5: My wife has this nack for visiting certain areas and is guaranteed to not see any indigenous animals. So we decided to visit Maine Wildlife Park so she could meet "Brian" the moose. Our exploration of the park took up much of the morning. Our drive home we stopped in Portland Maine for some food and of course shopping. We also now added Portland as another place we need a separate trip to. We also visited The Portland Head Lighthouse, which si the most photographed light house in the United States... which of course meant there were too many people there to get an amazing picture. LOL We finished the night off with some sunset beach time!
Day 6: Acadia National Park! This was not my first time visiting but it was for my family. In my opinion one of the most beautiful places on this planet. There is no part of the park that is not absolutely stunning. This roadtrip consisted of a 3.5 hour drive there and of course back which is often as much fun as the destination! To add to the "spooky" aspect of the trip we took the long way back and stopped by to visit Stephen Kings home. It was everything you want your favorite horror authors house to be!
Day 7: With so much excitement and go go go o n the rest of the days this day we took it slow. Another visit to the beach was due. We also explored more of the main part of town and did some shopping. We ate and ate well. We sat around and told stories and of course talked about where we want to go next!
Day 8: Always the best and worst day of the trip. It was time to pack the car and head home. Again plenty of snacks and a lot of chatter about the amazing time we had.
One of the things I base the success of a vacation on is how ready you are to be home. Now I do not mean"this trip is horrible and I would rather be at home". No, I mean that perfect balance of "I would love for this trip to be longer" with "I have done everything I hoped for and I am ready to be home and planning my next trip!". This trip was that perfect balance!
