We are about to embark upon our 1st cruise EVER in October, a 7-night Caribbean cruise on the Norwegian Joy! It has been great fun to delve into a whole new world of vacation planning for cruising. After extensive research, here are the Top 10 things I have found to keep in mind when packing for your cruise!
1. Magnet hooks & magnet clips: Did you know the walls and doors of your cruise cabin are metal? Using hooks for your purse/bags, lanyards, hats, cardigan, etc. can help keep the cabin space organized. You can use magnet clips to keep your paperwork (shore excursion docs, itinerary, etc.) handy and off other surfaces in your space.
2. Over-the-door organizer: Another way to make the most of your cabin space is to use this organizer over the door to the bathroom, main door, or adjoining door. Store sunscreen, water shoes, lotion, water bottle, sandals, and other items.
3. Hanging toiletry bag: This is actually a great tip for any trip! Hang this up in your shower or on the back of your bathroom door to keep your bathroom space tidy!
4. Waterproof floating phone case: Handy for shore excursions! No worries about your phone or other valuables while you enjoy the water!
5. Non-surge protected power strip: Allowed on cruise ships and provides extra outlets for all of your charging needs!
6. Travel toiletry bottles: Avoid lugging around heavy full-size bottles for all of your travels! I recently purchased these in the hopes of even skipping checked luggage at the airport and traveling carry-on only-will keep you posted on my success with this!
7. Luggage tag holders
8. Lanyard for cruise cards: To keep your cruise cards handy (could also use for your ID/drivers license and a credit card).
9. Packing cubes: A must for every type of vacation! Once you try them, you will never go back!
10. Beach towel clips: Reserve your chair and keep your towel from sliding off:
These make great gifts for friends and family who have upcoming cruise or other travel planned. Which of these items would you use the most? What else would you add to the list?
I would love to help you get your own travel booked for Fall, Holiday, or Spring Break! My services are at no cost to you when I book your vacation. The vendors/travel companies build the cost of travel agent commissions into their pricing so it is the same cost to you as booking direct with the vendor but you get access to my guidance, tips, and expertise to make things clear and smooth. Let’s get you on your way!
